we who have compiled it
feel a necessity
to state that our object has been to present you with a short account
of the work of the Wing, and copies of some of the more outstanding
photographs. We have mentioned names of individuals and Sections
only so far as they were necessary to give authenticity to the story
and, therefore, many of those who did indispensable work are not
included by name.
It is estimated that about five hundred officers served
in the Wing during its existence, and it will be, therefore, appreciated
that it was impossible to give individual credit to
each of them
in such a short account as this which, in any case, is only intended
to give a brief account of the operations which 34 Wing carried
out for the Second Tactical Air Force.
